The musical “March of Volunteers” portrays the life of Nie Er, a famous composer best known for his hand in the composition of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China. The performance recounts Er’s career and experiences, from the time he met the lyricist Tian Han to their joint efforts on musical works. The cultural play features numerous musical offerings, including "Listening to the Untold Suffering of the Public" and "Sound the Trumpet of Saving the Country."
