Looking For A New Steakhouse? Try The Angry Butcher At Sam's Club
Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall today has a new steakhouse! The Angry Butcher Steakhouse – a contemporary take on the classic American steakhouse, featuring an eclectic menu of rustic steakhouse fare paired with signature side dishes is now open.
“The Angry Butcher is inspired by the classic ambiance for which Sam’s Town is well-known,” said Mark LaVoie, Vice President of Food and Beverage for Boyd Gaming. “The restaurant offers an inspired take on American steakhouse favorites, presented in an authentic, comfortable environment. Whether you’re a Sam’s Town regular or have never been to the property before, The Angry Butcher offers an exceptional experience that gives a new reason to visit us.”
Nestled in the heart of the famous Mystic Falls Park, The Angry Butcher is a distinctive dining experience perfect for date night, an after-work happy hour hangout and more. Patio seating allows guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of Mystic Falls Park during daily Social Hour and well into dinnertime, and a bar located near the patio serves up a full menu of The Angry Butcher’s signature cocktails.
The restaurant’s design concept is inspired by its simple, high-contrast neutral color scheme, with sumptuously upholstered private booths, hand-finished ceiling beams and a walnut plank floor. A row of glittering light pendants visually anchor one side of the dining room, and add a timeless yet modern touch. The opposite wall features a spacious display kitchen that runs the length of the restaurant. A beautifully curated collection of bric-a-brac adorns the arched and lighted display partitions in the center of the dining room.
The menu opens with a playful collection of starters, greens and pots, including the fat oysters, coated in seasoned corn meal and deep-fried, then served in the shell with vinegar slaw and a house-made tartar sauce; the beefsteak tomato salad, featuring sliced beefsteak tomatoes topped with basil and aged balsamic vinegar; and the gooey-gruyere-covered French onion soup, a hearty blend of beef stock, caramelized onions and sherry wine topped with a baguette crouton.
The Angry Butcher’s signature cuts include the prime rib, which can be enjoyed on or off the bone for less than $35 as well as steakhouse standards like the New York and bone-in Ribeye. Steaks are charbroiled at 800 degrees in a Jade Range Broiler, which sears both sides of the steak, locking in moisture. For a different take on steak, the steak au poivre features a pan-roasted USDA prime flat iron steak topped with a green peppercorn cognac sauce for just $26.
With the “turf” section of the menu well-covered, it is rounded out by a simple selection of the best in “surf,” including Pacific salmon and North Atlantic halibut, pan-roasted in a wood-fired brick oven.
The meal’s sidekicks are a range of reimagined classics like smashed sweet potatoes spiked with bourbon; Tuscan-fried potatoes kissed with olive oil and rosemary; and decadent white cheddar mac and cheese mixed with caramelized onions and smoked bacon. The Angry Butcher also shows its sweet side with indulgent desserts such as warm bread pudding and chocolate espresso layer cake.
Because a cool cocktail is the perfect thing for a hot temper, savor The Angry Butcher’s lineup of signature sips, including the refreshing “What Happens in Fight Club,” a mix of Wild Turkey Rye and Orgeat Syrup, muddled and garnished with fresh mint sprigs; and the “Live by the Gun,” a Bulleit Rye and Amaretto DiSaronno concoction mixed with fresh lemon sour and garnished with fresh lemon peel.
The Angry Butcher is open daily for social hour from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on the patio and in the bar, with a special menu of small bites like sea salt and vinegar house-made potato chips, pretzel rolls and prime rib dip sliders, all the perfect companions for a signature cocktail. The main dining room opens at 5 p.m.
The Angry Butcher is the latest in a series of debuts at Boyd Gaming properties nationwide, including Alder & Birch Cocktails and Dining and Ondori Asian Kitchen at The Orleans; California Noodle House at California Hotel and Casino; Brigg’s Oyster Co. at Suncoast Hotel and Casino; and many more.
