The Las Vegas Firefighters Benefit Association (LVFBA), Vegas' premiere 501-C benefitting active and retired firefighters, is proud to announce that it will up the ante for its annual LVFBA No Limit Poker Tournament this year by opening the poker-for-a-cause event to the public and by hosting the event for the first time on the Las Vegas Strip at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
On Saturday, July 9th, the LVFBA will host fellow firefighters, neighbors, local celebrities and poker enthusiasts alike at its celebrated annual poker tournament, with proceeds benefitting active and retired firefighters. The 2016 LVFBA poker tournament competitors will bet their chips for firefighters and on fun at Planet Hollywood’s exclusive Mezzanine floor. The event starts at 4 p.m. and is open to the public; the $200 buy-in includes the chance to win tiered-cash prizes, and the winner of the tournament is guaranteed a $10,000 seat to the World Series of Poker main event.
“The Las Vegas Firefighters Benefit Association is excited to turn the game of poker into a friendly competition to support the LVFBA’s cause to assist firefighters and their families,” said Luis Fonseca, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Fire Captain and Vice President of LVFBA. “The LVFBA’s board members are thrilled to partner with such a distinguished property like Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and are determined to come together with the community to hit our goal of raising $30,000 total buy-in by registering 150 participants.”
