Life Time Athletic Summerlin and Life Time Athletic Green Valley invite members of the Las Vegas community to mark their commitments to a healthy new year during the 4th annual Commitment Day Festival from Friday, Jan. 1, through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016. Both local Life Time destinations will be open to the general public during Commitment Day to promote a healthy way of life to both members and non-members with classes, events, services and amenities.
Commitment Day — a national movement to encourage and inspire positive change in the new year —includes three days of healthy events and activities and kicks off Friday, Jan. 1, with a 5K Fun Run and Walk beginning at 10 a.m. at Life Time Summerlin. The stroller-and pet-friendly run is open to all ages and is free for children 12 and under. Adults are $25 per person through Dec. 14, $30 from Dec. 14 through Dec. 31 and $35 on-site. Life Time Athletic Summerlin will host a post-race party immediately following the event for all participants featuring refreshments, music, activities and more on the spacious pool deck. Commitment Day will continue with a full schedule of fitness classes, workshops and events throughout the weekend at both locations, including the C9 Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 2. The class, developed in partnership with Target’s exclusive C9 Champion Brand Ambassador Adam Rosante, is designed to challenge nine core areas of the body in 39 minutes, featuring a dynamic warmup followed by three fitness blocks focused on upper body, lower body and core. The C9 Challenge class concludes with a one minute cardio burst to increase the heart rate and ensure a steady metabolic afterburn.
The festival weekend concludes on Sunday, Jan. 3, with an Indoor Triathlon Hour powered by IRONMAN at both Life Time Athletic Summerlin and Life Time Athletic Green Valley. Athletes can realize their goals of becoming a triathlete in only an hour with the exclusive event, featuring a 10-minute swim at the indoor pool, 30 minutes of cycling and 20 minutes on the treadmill. The Indoor Triathlon Hour is open to all those 12 and older and priced at $25 per person through Monday, Dec. 14, and $30 per person thereafter.
