In Vegas At The Chelsea D'Angelo & The Vanguard!
On Friday, Aug. 21, Grammy Award winning artist and backing band D’Angelo and the Vanguard got the crowd at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas moving to tracks spanning the R&B sensation’s career. The high energy performance saw fans dancing and singing along to new songs such as “Ain’t That Easy,” “Really Love,” and “The Charade” as well as beloved classics “Brown Sugar” and “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” which he graciously closed the evening with. Spotted in the crowd, Questlove and hip hop artist Common. Following the concert, Questlove hopped on the decks at BOND and surprised guests with an impromptu DJ set.
Special guest Sam Dew kicked off the evening. D’Angelo released his third studio album, Black Messiah, in late 2014 followed by a European tour featuring sold-out dates in Stockholm, Amsterdam and Paris and a U.S. tour with Mary J Blige.
Upcoming events at The Chelsea include Kevin Hart & Friends Comedy All-Stars Hosted by Kevin Hart (Sept. 5); Lenny Kravitz with special guest Andra Day (Sept. 8); The MetroPCS Friday Night Knockout on truTV (Sept. 11); and Sam Hunt with special guest Carter Winter (Dec. 4).
