The Las Vegas Philharmonic is launching an exciting new experience called the Sunday Matinee 4-Pack for its 2015 – 2016 concert season starting Monday, July 13, 2015 through The Smith Center Box Office.  The package includes four Sunday concerts at 2 pm on December 6, 2015, January 10, 2016, April 3, 2016 and May 22, 2016.  The concerts will represent a dynamic mix of the Las Vegas Philharmonic’s classical and pops style programming, led by Music Director Donato Cabrera to include:

The Snowman, an animated, heartwarming holiday film playing on a large screen while the orchestra provides the beautiful score for the annual holiday concert, Cabrera Conducts Rachmaninoff featuring guest pianist Martina Filjak performing Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Gershwin: Music of the Jazz Age showcasing the timeless classic Rhapsody in Blue and Cabrera Conducts Tchaikovsky featuring two works by the composer including Variations on a Rococo Theme and Symphony No. 6.

Three of the four performances will include a Classical Conversation hosted by Cabrera at 1 pm to share the history and meaning behind the music being performed.

When patrons purchase the Sunday Matinee 4-Pack, they will receive four concert tickets for the price of three tickets or 25% off the full single ticket price.  The discounted ticket prices are $292, $202 and $142 and can be purchased from The Smith Center box office at 702.749.2000 or online at lvphil.org.

“This will be the first time in the orchestra’s 17 seasons that it will perform Sunday afternoon concerts.  Many of our patrons have expressed interest in attending an afternoon performance so we are excited to share this opportunity for greater flexibility and convenience with them,” says Michele Madole, Las Vegas Philharmonic’s Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations.   “And what better way to welcome those new to attending the Philharmonic but by offering them the option for great entertainment on a Sunday afternoon.”

The 2015 – 2016 concert season, which begins on Saturday, September 12, will include 15 performances in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center with the addition of the new weekend matinees.  Currently, the Las Vegas Philharmonic is selling 10-concert and 5-concert Series I, II and III subscriptions, a Tuesday night Spotlight Series in Troesh Studio Theater and individual tickets to its Series II and III programs in Reynolds Hall.
