Liberty
Festival:
The town of Pahrump is celebrating the birth of our Nation with its
annual Liberty Festival. Bring friends
and family to this jam-packed, family-friendly festival that includes live
music and entertainment, a horseshoe tournament, various food and craft vendors
and one of the longest displays of fireworks you will ever see. Admission to the festival is free. For more

Lost:
A Meditation on War Exhibition: In the mood for some culture? The “Always
Lost: A Meditation on War” exhibition is coming to the town of Pahrump for a
limited time. This spectacular exhibit includes original poetry from Nevada
writers, as well as work from the 2004 Pulitzer Prize-winning Iraq War combat
photograph collection courtesy of the Dallas Morning News. The exhibit will
also feature the Wall of the Dead, which displays the faces and names of fallen
U.S. military personnel from casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan since September
11, 2001. The exhibit will also include a special guest lecture by Dr. Tom
Waters on July 11th at 1:00 p.m.

Valley Museum Lecture Series:
Calling all history buffs: the Pahrump Valley
Museum is dedicated to inspiring curiosity and teaching the rich history and
culture of Pahrump through its one-of-a-kind exhibits that include early farming
and mining equipment, early relics from cowboys and pioneers, and Native
American artifacts. In addition to the historic items on display, the Pahrump
Valley Museum offers a monthly lecture series that covers a wide range of
topics.
Second Saturday of the month; July 11
1 p.m.
Special guest for the month of July is Dr. Tom Waters, a Veteran and expert in
Military education. Dr. Waters will be speaking with regard to the “Always
Lost: A Meditation on War” exhibition.
The exhibit brings home the personal and collective costs of war through
original poetry by Nevada writers; the 2004 Pulitzer Prize-winning Iraq War
combat photograph collection courtesy of The Dallas Morning News; and the Wall
of the Dead, faces and names of U.S. military war casualties in Iraq and
Afghanistan since September 11, 2001.

Movies
in the Park:
This July the town of Pahrump is proud to bring some of
Hollywood’s finest films to Movies in the Park.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair, some snacks, and settle in for a night of
your favorite movie stars, under the stars. Event is complimentary.

Valley Speedway:
Race season is in full effect at the Pahrump Valley Speedway.
One of the only clay-based, high-banked, quarter-mile dirt tracks remaining in
the U.S., Pahrump Valley Speedway promises action and thrills galore. Bring the family for a day of racing and
cheer on different classes of cars including Modifieds, Super Stocks, Dwarf
Cars, Coupes, Bombers, Mod Minis, and more.
