Kumukahi Ukulele & Hula Festival brings together acclaimed hālau and musicians from around the country for a celebration of music and dance honoring Hawaiian history and culture at Sam’s Town Live! on Aug. 7 and 8.
The Kumukahi Ukulele & Hula Festival serves as a vehicle for hālau and ukulele musicians to share their talents and obtain true Aloha and Lōkahi (unity), while immortalizing the hula styles of their respective hula lineage.
Kumukahi celebrates the heartbeat of the Hawaiian people and masters of the ukulele for a two-day festival dedicated to perpetuating the ever-growing popularity of Hawaii’s culture, ending with a Kanikapila featuring some of Hawaii’s finest musical artists.
Friday, Aug. 7 - the 3 p.m. session includes: the Kupuna Ukulele, Kupuna Hula Group, Kaikamahine Auana and soloist competitions.
Saturday, Aug. 8 - the 10 a.m. session includes: the Group Kane and Wahine Kahiko and Auana Makuahine Auana competitions.
Saturday, Aug. 8 - the 8 p.m. session includes: the Kanikapila, a concert celebrating Hawaiian culture featuring Sean Na’auao and Bo Napoleon.
