In
honor of World Hunger Day on May 28, Sands® ECO360° and Sands® Cares partnered
with local non-profit Three Square Food Bank to hold the second annual “Hunger
is Not a Game” food drive from May 4 through June 8. Last year, the resorts,
along with Sands Expo, challenged their team members to collect 15,000 food
items and surpassed their goal by collecting 15,171. This year, in honor of the
16th anniversary of The Venetian® Las Vegas, the goal has been increased to
16,000.
To
build the excitement for the food drive effort, four teams of 12, consisting of
team members of The Venetian, The Palazzo® Las Vegas, and Sands Expo will
compete in a team exercise to conceptualize and build a piece of artwork with
the cans collected around the theme of “The Venetian.” The team winner of the
competition will be determined based on the number of food items collected and
the most creative art.
Judges
for the competition include: Senior Vice
President of Development Michael Lentz, Vice President of Global Sustainability
Katarina Tesarova, and Three Square Food Bank’s COO Dan Williams.
