Hard
Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas will bid farewell to the original and
infamous Center Bar on Sunday, June 28. In honor of the year it opened, the
iconic hub will offer 1995-themed “Last Call” drink specials and will host a
“Final Toast” party to commemorate the occasion.
Guests
can enjoy Center Bar’s “Last Call” promotion from Thursday, June 18 to Sunday,
June 28. The special features five of the bar’s most popular shots from 1995
including “Surfer on Acid,” “Purple Hooter,” “Scooby Snack,” “Red Headed Slut”
and “Cosmopolitan Shot.” The select shots are just $5 and come with a
limited-edition Center Bar shot glass (while supplies last).
In
addition, Center Bar will host a “Final Toast” party for locals and visitors
alike as well as past and current employees on Sunday, June 28 from 7 to 10
p.m. The soiree will feature top music hits from 1995, and attendees are
encouraged to sign their name on the original Center Bar before it closes.
Throughout the commemorative event, the globe hanging above the hotspot will
shine bright before turning off when the final toast is given by Robin Leach.
An after party at The Ainsworth with DJ Dash will conclude the evening and
construction will begin the following day.
“Center
Bar is, and always will be, an important part of our Hard Rock Hotel &
Casino family,” said Jody Lake, Chief Operating Officer for Hard Rock Hotel
& Casino. “It’s the end of an icon but the beginning of a new and exciting
era on property.”
Center
Bar is known for its panoramic views of the property’s casino floor, nonstop
parties and as the trailblazer for center bars all around Sin City. It opened
in 1995 and truly redefined the way gaming executives viewed their casino
floors – nestled in the heart of tables and slot machines, the trendsetting bar
created an infectious energy in the casino that other gaming companies adopted.
Through its success, Center Bar was inducted into Vegas Seven’s Las Vegas Bar
Hall of Fame in 2014, was voted “Best Place to People Watch” in the Best Dining
& Nightlife Awards by the readers of Casino Player magazine in 2013, among
other recognitions. Furthermore, the hotspot served numerous celebrities including
band members from Guns N’ Roses, cast members from MTV’s “The Real World: Las
Vegas,” CeeLo Green and more.
