The
Wheels of Soul Tour rolled into The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort Tuesday night
(June 9) to a very enthusiastic crowd of live music lovers. From the start of
the show, fans were dancing and waving their arms in delight to what was easily
one of the best nights of live music ever hosted at the intimate concert venue.
The crowd cheered through amazing performances by Doyle Bramhall II and Sharon
Jones and the Dap-Kings - 59-year-old
Jones giving several shout outs of her love for legendary songstress and former
Las Vegas headliner Gladys Knight, even covering “Every Beat of My Heart” from
Gladys Knight & The Pips. Tedeschi Trucks Band took the stage in full force
seamlessly flowing from song to song with performances including “Do I Look
Worried,” “Idle Wind” and “Bound for
Glory.” Bramhall II and Jones came back on stage towards the end of the night
to join Tedeschi Trucks Band to perform “Bring It On Home” and “Tell Mama.”
After
the show, the band and Palms crew, including booker Danny Zelisko and Palms
Casino Resort’s VP of Entertainment
Billy Conn, sang Happy Birthday to Derek Trucks and presented him with a
cake celebrating his 36th birthday.
