Renowned
musician and songwriter Burton Cummings will return to perform his timeless
hits at The Orleans Showroom on May 9 and 10.
Cummings
began his music journey as the lead singer of Canadian band The Guess Who,
whose hits included “These Eyes,” “Laughing, No Time,” “American Woman,” “Share
The Land” and “Hang On To Your Life.” The band was the first Canadian group to
reach #1 on the Billboard charts, as well as the first to earn a platinum album
for sales of more than 1 million copies in the United States.
In
1976, Cummings began his solo career, scoring a gold record for his debut
single, “Stand Tall.” To follow, Cummings produced more than a dozen hit
singles and albums, including “I’m Scared,” “My Own Way to Rock” and “Timeless
Love.” Cummings continued his career by starring in several top-rated
television specials, going on tour as a member of Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band,
and releasing his first live solo album “Massey Hall” in 2012.
Cummings
is a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Canadian Songwriters Hall of
Fame, Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame, Canadian Walk of Fame, Canadian
Music Industry Hall of Fame and Prairie Music Hall of Fame. He is a recipient

Governor General’s Performance Arts Award (GGPAA) and several BMI (Broadcast
Music, Inc.) awards for more than 1 million airplays of his songs.
Last
year, Cummings announced the launch of “Burton Cummings Radio,” a monthly

glimpse into Burton’s personal music collection.
