Alexis
Bittar Opens at The Forum Shops at Caesars
Brooklyn-based
jewelry brand Alexis Bittar opens its first stand-alone boutique in Las Vegas
at The Forum Shops at Caesars. The new store incorporates the iconic elements
of an Alexis Bittar boutique, including décor details such as custom-made floor
mirrors created with antiqued, beveled glass and grey-lacquer paneling. The
interior design reflects the playful contrast of art and fantasy which creates
a distinctly Alexis Bittar environment. Adding to the atmosphere is a staple to
any Alexis Bittar store, an ethically-sourced, neon-hued hybrid taxidermy
animal, hand-painted exclusively to Bittar’s custom colorations by artist Frank
J. Zitz. The custom display cases are
finished in grey lacquer and framed silk wall coverings are hand painted with
delicate cherry blossoms. These cases feature a full expression of the Alexis
Bittar fashion line, including his iconic Lucite, Elements, and the Miss
Havisham collections. The boutique also offers
Alexis Bittar’s sought-after Fine Jewelry line, as well as the Curated
Antique Selection, a collection of vintage jewelry pieces that have been
acquired by Alexis himself during his travels.

Jimmy
Choo Introduces Collection Featuring
Rafael
Mantesso's English Bull Terrier Illustrations
Finding
himself alone in an empty flat following a divorce, artist Rafael Mantesso
filled the blank space in his home with whimsical illustrations. His beloved
English bull terrier, named Jimmy Choo, cleverly positioned himself within the
sketches and an artistic partnership was born. Transforming personal misfortune
into hilarity, Mantesso created more illustrated scenarios for his dog Jimmy,
photographing him in witty and tender poses simulating all manner of unusual
activities – ranging from police line-ups to fashion parades and karaoke
competitions. The whimsical drawings starring Mantesso’s beloved bull terrier
attracted the world’s attention, and the images were broadcast across global media,
turning the artist, and his dog, Jimmy Choo into a sensation. Jimmy Choo’s
Creative Director, Sandra Choi was so enchanted by the charming drawings that
she approached the artist directly, commissioning him to create a series of
fun, tongue-in-cheek illustrations to decorate a selection of Jimmy Choo
accessories.
The
collaboration manifests in a limited edition capsule collection launching from
the 15th May as part of Pre-Fall ‘15 comprising tote bags, cosmetic and handbag
pouches, purses and iPhone cases. All products will feature a series of three
exclusive sketches portraying Rafael’s bull terrier set against his signature
line drawings: dreaming of shoes, relaxing on a sofa with a martini by his side
or turning canine DJ on the decks. Set against a matt white background, the
illustrations are humorous and eye-catching juxtaposed with bright pops of
iridescent color in hot pink, copper and electric blue. To celebrate the canine
star of Rafael’s illustrations, the collection also premieres two styles of dog
collars ensuring dog and owner are equally well accessorized.
New
Fountain and Escalator Enhance Experience and Access
In an
ongoing effort to provide visitors to The Forum Shops with the best shopping
experience and thematic atmosphere, The Forum Shops has recently debuted the
new Laocoon Fountain and Escalator. Making the transition from the level two to
the third level both easy and visually-picturesque, the Laocoon Fountain is a
stunning 2,000 gallon waterfall cascading down from 14 feet with three
mushroom-style bubblers leading to a custom replica statue depicting Laocoon
and His Sons - one of the most famous ancient sculptures ever - as they fend
off a sea serpent. The new escalator alongside the dazzling new fountain
provides guests a straight shot to the third level where they will discover
additional dining venues including Il Mulino New York, Sushi Roku and Planet
Hollywood Restaurant & Bar as well as retailers including Tommy Bahama,
