Residents
of the Las Vegas valley are invited to share their vision for downtown Las
Vegas as the city continues its community outreach on a new, updated Downtown
Master Plan. Two public outreach events are scheduled on May 14 at World Market
Center to solicit community input on ideas regarding challenges and
opportunities facing Downtown Las Vegas.
Participants will have an opportunity to weigh in on a proposed vision
for the area.
These
events are part of a comprehensive and ongoing outreach effort to engage the
community that began last fall with more than 100 interviews of downtown
stakeholders and two major public outreach meetings in January.
The
May 14 workshops will be led by RTKL, a leading global architecture and urban
design firm, whose representatives, along with a team of local and national
experts, are working to update a plan to better facilitate the physical,
social, and economic development of Downtown Las Vegas over the next 20 years.
Participation
in these events is free, and valley residents of all ages (18+) who have an
interest in Downtown Las Vegas are invited. This is an opportunity to help
shape a vision for the future of a vital, urban Las Vegas. The Downtown Master Plan is one of several
initiatives that are part of a city-wide master planning effort, “City By
Design,” that is creating a strategic
vision for the city’s future.
