Spring Fling Races NOW Going On At LVMS!!

Nearly 500 drivers from across North America will converge on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Wednesday through Sunday for the 3rd Annual K&N Spring Fling Vegas.
The five-day event is open to pro and semi-pro racers and will feature substantial daily payouts and more than $50,000 in product giveaways. Peter Biondo, a 45-time NHRA national event winner, and Kyle Seipel, winner of 22 NHRA divisional event titles, are co-hosting the event, which begins on Wednesday with the 32-car Maytag/Silverstate Refrigeration $50,000 Shootout at 11:15 a.m. Pacific Time.

Five-time NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Pro Stock World Champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. will make his 2015 debut at the event, and a number of defending champions are expected to be in action again this year.

Entry fees range from $90 to $250 depending on the competition day and class, all races will run 1/8 of a mile, and payouts will be awarded for each round victory on a daily basis. There will also be a Spring Fling $20,000 Challenge, where drivers can win $100 for any .00X reaction time or $1,000 for any reaction time of .000.

Saturday’s Super Pro division winner will take home $20,000, with $10,000 going to the day’s Pro class champion. Thursday’s payouts will be $5,000 for Super Pro and $3,000 for Pro, while the winner of those divisions on Friday and Sunday will pocket $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.
“Besides the payout, both myself and Peter are excited simply because of the atmosphere of fun that has been created here every year,” Seipel said. “From the time the gates open on Tuesday, right up until the final rounds on Sunday, there’s a major party going on.”

Friday night’s racing action will culminate with a Sparco Racer Appreciation Party, and winners of Saturday’s divisions will have their photos taken with the famous Las Vegas Showgirls at the trophy presentations.

Gates open at 7 a.m. on Thursday and 7:30 a.m. on Friday through Sunday, with racing action kicking off at 8 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. Eliminations will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday after an on-site church service.

Single-day tickets are available for $15, and fans can purchase full-event passes for Wednesday through Sunday for $55 at the main ticket office at The Strip. The races will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.BangShift.com each day for fans who are unable to make it to The Strip to see the action firsthand.
