Now
through April 17, the LAPD End of Watch Memorial Wall will be on display at
Treasure Island in Siren’s Cove.
The
travelling exhibit is dedicated to the 207 Los Angeles Police Department
officers who have fallen in the line of duty. The End of Watch memorial wall
features all six LAPD badges in chronological order, surrounded by the names of
all 207 officers. Two names have been added since the project began.
Constructed
of stainless steel and glass and illuminated with LED lights, more than 40
people and 18 greater Los Angeles area companies contributed to building the
memorial. The main badge assembly weights more than 100 pounds and requires at
least three people to manage safely.
Admission
is free and retired LAPD officers and memorial staff will be on site to answer
visitors’ questions.
