Halloween
weekend at Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand was full of action-packed energy as
thousands of partygoers assembled to enter the realm of the Forbidden City
alongside unrivaled talent including resident DJs Calvin Harris and Tiësto,
among others. The hot spot fully transformed into the Forbidden City as
detailed experiences including seductive areal acts, shimmering dancers,
playful décor and alluring light shows set the scene for an unforgettable
four-day bash. In addition to the non-stop entertainment, the nightspot hosted
three nights of sultry costume contests where multiple lucky winners were
crowned as the “sexiest costumes” in Las Vegas and took home impressive prizes
each night, totaling $60,000.
Kicking
off Hakkasan Nightclub’s Rise of The Empress Halloween weekend was none other
than famed DJ Calvin Harris, Thursday, Oct. 30. Harris took over the decks and
played his chart-toping hits until the early hours of the morning, giving fans
sweet nothings instead of ghoulish tricks. Gold-clad dancers played as
eye-catching attractions to set the scene for what turned out to be a night
full of mischief and mayhem as some lucky ladies were crowned as winners for
the awaited costume contest.
Hakkasan
Nightclub pulled out all the tricks as Halloween night arrived, Friday, Oct.
31. The Hakkasan Empress was ready to rule over her empire with the help from
resident DJ Tiësto and young artist Danny Avila, who took part in the
festivities with spooky face art to command the crowd. The party was amped up
during the costume contest where party patrons aided in voting for the lucky
winners. Heightening the energy even more, Tiësto continued to play his popular
tracks such as “Red Lights” and “Wasted” which had clubgoers dancing into the
night alongside the Empress in her Forbidden City. The Ling Ling Club was also
a party of its own all night with DJ Ruckus spinning beats for the special
occasion.
As
the madness continued, the popular destination brought the three-day costume
contest to a close with sounds provided by the highly energetic DJ Afrojack,
Saturday, Nov. 1. In awe of the Forbidden City, the renowned artist took a
second to take in the atmosphere before letting loose and cranking up the party
by taking advantage of the specially installed dragons above the DJ booth that
exhaled expansive amounts of CO2 whenever he demanded. Afrojack had partygoers
on their feet and confetti in the air all night long for an evening to
remember. Hakkasan also welcomed back DJ and producer Questlove to the
nightlife mecca for a night of action-packed fun in the Ling Ling Club.
Closing
out the final night of the Rise of The Empress celebration was none other than
cake-slinging DJ Steve Aoki with help from The Chainsmokers, Sunday, Nov. 2. Three
previous nights of partying did not scare away any clubgoers as the nightlife
mecca was kicked into high gear to bid farewell to The Forbidden City with
partygoers dressed up for one last bash of Halloween debauchery. Aoki ensured a
stimulating night as he served up his iconic cake to a few enthusiastic fans
while spinning tracks from his new album Neon Future. He even brought out his
raft and let a few fans take part in his tradition by riding the waves of the
crowd. After four nights of Halloween mayhem, The Forbidden City has finally
been laid to rest and normalcy has been restored in the nightlife destination.
