American
Lung Association’s 2014 LUNG FORCE Walk
The
American Lung Association in Nevada – Las Vegas will hold its annual LUNG FORCE
Walk from noon to 2 p.m. on
Saturday,
Nov. 1 at Floyd Lamb Park. Presented by Kindred Hospital Las Vegas, the walk
will raise funds for those who suffer from lung cancer, asthma, COPD and other
lung diseases. The event is open to the public and will consist of a 5k beginning
at noon, followed with a Fall-themed festival complete with complimentary food
and refreshments, beer and wine will be for sale, craft vendors, and live music
by the band, “My Villain Heart.”
In
addition, there will be a Health Fair where walkers can receive complimentary
flu shots, health and wellness information and additional health screenings.
Everyone is welcomed to participate – including families, children in
strollers, dogs and dog-walkers and lung cancer survivors. This year, 400 to
500 walkers are expected to attend.
Participation
in LUNG FORCE Walk is free per walker and teams average about 10 members.
However, participants are encouraged to raise funds by making a minimum
personal donation of $100. Walkers age 18 and over must register as
participants. Those under 18 are encouraged to register and must be accompanied
by an adult 21 years or older at the event.
