Starting
at 1 p.m. on Oct. 1, Rí Rá Las Vegas will host over 16 days of nonstop live
music in attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the Longest Concert by
Multiple Artists.
For more than 16 days straight there will be nonstop live music with at most a 25-second break between songs and a five-minute break between sets. Guided by Irish musician Dave Browne, the marathon concert will feature a variety of musical styles. Many popular bands and musicians will fly in from Ireland to support the attempt including Liam Reilly of renowned Irish rock band Bagatelle and the founder of the legendary Wolfe Tones, Derek Warfield.
The current world record holder for Longest Concert by Multiple Artists is AJ’s Music Café in Ferndale, Michigan, where a concert that began on March 19, 2011 lasted for 360 hours, ending on April 3, 2011.
