Continuing
the tradition of celebrating Mexican Independence Day, The Cosmopolitan of Las
Vegas hosts a series of cultural events including The Original Margarita
Festival at Boulevard Pool, the patriotic “Grito Mexicano” at The Chandelier,
Mariachi El Bronx at Book & Stage and roaming mariachi bands throughout the
resort.
On
Monday, Sept. 15, spend a night mixing and mingling amidst Mariachi serenades
while enjoying unlimited margarita tastings at The Cosmopolitan’s inaugural
Original Margarita Festival from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., showcasing Las Vegas’ most
celebrated mixologists and their own signature Margarita recipe, including
award-winning venues such as Vesper Bar, Velveteen Rabbit, Herbs and Rye and
more. The competition gets even more interesting when the top three mixologists
are handed secret ingredients that must be incorporated into their
beverages. At the end of the event,
these specially-curated concoctions will be judged by Las Vegas influencers and
experts who will name a winner and award them with an educational trip to
Tequila, Mexico. Guests attending the event will also be able to vote for their
favorite mixology creation helping judges determine the finalists.
Additionally, guests will enjoy Mexican-inspired culinary offerings for
purchase. A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to the Las Vegas
chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild.
Tickets
for the Margarita Festival are $40 and on sale now. Each ticket includes entry
from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. and unlimited margarita tastings. Tickets are available
at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com or through Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000.
Also
happening at the resort, the high-energy group formed by eight mariachi
performers and six folkloric dancers will roam each day from Friday, Sept. 12
through Monday, Sept. 15, until the midnight hour, entertaining guests and
commencing the festivities.
Starting
at 10:30 p.m. each night also from Friday, Sept. 12 through Monday, Sept. 15,
Mariachi El Bronx, the alter ego of acclaimed punk outfit The Bronx, will
perform live at Book & Stage.
To
culminate the celebration, The Cosmopolitan will ring in the official Grito
Mexicano – a cry of patriotism – through a ceremonial ringing of the bell at
midnight on Monday, Sept. 15, set to a Mexican flag backdrop on stage at The
Chandelier. As guests raise their glasses, Mariachis and dancers will surround
The Chandelier and take the stage for an official performance to ensure the
festivities continue with enthusiastic merriment.
