On
Saturday, July 19, “Wheel of Fortune” hostess Vanna White attended the
smash-hit musical MAMMA MIA! at The New Tropicana Las Vegas. Vanna went
backstage to meet the cast and was greeted with a fun surprise by the
company—they had created “Wheel of Fortune”-type letters spelled out as
M-A-M-M-A-M-I-A (pictured in attached photo). Vanna and the cast had a fun time
posing with the letters as she expressed her excitement for their
performance.

ABOUT
MAMMA MIA!
The
worldwide sensation MAMMA MIA! has made an unprecedented return to the Las
Vegas Strip after a six year run at Mandalay Bay that closed in 2009. Now five
years later, with a new cast and new home, MAMMA MIA! is once again taking the
Strip by storm. Inspired by the storytelling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs,
MAMMA MIA! is Judy Craymer’s vision of staging writer Catherine Johnson’s
sunny, funny tale of family and friendship unfolding on a tiny Greek island. On
the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her
father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they had last
visited 20 years ago. Songs including “Dancing Queen,” “The Winner Takes It
All,” “Money, Money, Money” and “Take a Chance on Me” are all featured in this
feel-good night of fun and laughter.
Acclaimed
by the Associated Press as “quite simply, a phenomenon,” MAMMA MIA! continues
its success around the world having been seen by more than 54 million people in
38 productions in 14 languages in over 400 cities. Now celebrating 13 smash-hit
years on Broadway and over 5,000 performances, it is one of only five musicals
to have run for more than 10 years on Broadway. The original West End
production, now in its 15th year, has celebrated over 6,000 performances in
London. MAMMA MIA! is one of the most successful musicals of all time and the
movie adaptation starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan is one of the most
successful movie musicals, grossing $600 million worldwide.
MAMMA
MIA! performs in the recently transformed, state-of-the-art Tropicana Theater
Sunday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. There
is no show on Fridays. Tickets and hotel packages can be purchased at trop.lv/TLVMammaMia, by phone at 800-829-9034 or at the Tropicana Show
