Miss Nevada Teen USA Alexa Taylor |
Miss
Nevada Teen USA Alexa Taylor is set to compete for the title and crown of Miss
Teen USA at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas on Saturday,
Aug. 2.
The
Miss Teen USA competition comes on the heels of the Miss USA pageant, in which
her “sister queen,” Miss Nevada USA Nia Sanchez, won. Since Sanchez is the
first Nevada queen to ever bring home the Miss USA crown, Taylor is now gearing
up to be the first Miss Nevada Teen USA to take home the national crown.
“Seeing
Nia represent Nevada in such a wonderful way, while winning the national title,
has motivated me to follow in her footsteps,” says Taylor. “I can’t wait for
the opportunity to represent this great state, while being able to meet new people
and take home the Miss Teen USA crown!”
With
50 other contestants competing from all over the United States, Taylor will be
judged in three different rounds including interview, swimsuit and evening
gown. With the preliminary presentation show taking place on Friday, Aug. 1 and
the live finals competition on Saturday, Aug. 2, Taylor is ready to take on the
competition.
As
Miss Nevada Teen USA 2014, 16-year-old Taylor has given back to her community,
attending many charity events and being a positive role model for other girls
her age. Taylor has had the opportunity to volunteer at more than 15 charities,
with one of her favorite charities being the Shade Tree Shelter where she
volunteers her time reading books and doing arts and crafts with children. When
Taylor is not training for Miss Teen USA, she is a competitive cheerleader and
tumbler. In her spare time she also enjoys spending time with her family,
traveling and going to the beach.
About
The Miss Nevada USA Organization
The
Miss Nevada USA and Miss Nevada Teen USA pageants serve as official preliminary
competitions to the country’s renowned pageant system, the Miss Universe
Organization, owned by Donald Trump. With an annual pageant held in January,
two new titleholders are chosen to represent the great state of Nevada.
Executive state director, Shanna Moakler, brings her experience as a TV star
and former Miss USA to Nevada. Since Moakler joined the Miss Nevada USA
organization in 2012, the pageant has received a complete makeover, giving
Nevada notoriety with a Top 5 placement and Top 10 placement at Miss USA. Most
recently, Miss Nevada USA 2014, Nia Sanchez, was crowned Nevada’s first ever
Miss USA.
