Free Sunscreen Station Now Available At Wet 'n' Wild!

Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) has teamed up with Wet‘n’Wild Las Vegas for a community-focused partnership that encourages park guests to keep skin safety top-of-mind.

The components of this “first of its kind” partnership include a colorful sunscreen kiosk upon entrance to Wet'n'Wild, offering complimentary SPF 30 sunscreen to visitors for the remainder of the park’s operating season. Additionally, the kiosk is adorned with skin safety tips for guests to keep in mind not only during their visit to the park, but in their daily lives. Park-wide audio messages also will play periodically throughout the day, reminding guests to apply sunscreen and offering other proactive tips. Two additional kiosks, located at the entrance to Red Rock Bay wave pool and Splash Island, will be installed in the coming weeks.

The free sunscreen is a paraben-free, oxybenzone-free and waterproof blend. The broad-spectrum sunscreen fully protects skin against potentially harmful UV-A and UV-B rays, when applied and reapplied appropriately. The sunscreen kiosk and additional elements comprising the partnership were designed with all ages in mind and to urge park visitors to stay proactive with skin protection.

“Many negative skin conditions are fully avoidable with a hands-on approach and preventative measures,” said James Kilber, executive director of CCCN. "This partnership is ideal as it promotes fun in the sun, but also encourages safe behavior and tips on preventing skin damage. We hope that park guests will take advantage of the awareness messaging and free sunscreen throughout the remainder of the season."

Now, Wet‘n’Wild guests who simply forgot their sunscreen, or need to conveniently reapply without interrupting the fun, have cost-free options within the park.

“Our partnership with Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada to provide free sunscreen and skin safety tips at the park is a great example of our mission to provide a fun, safe and memorable experience for our guests throughout the season,” said Takuya Ohki, general manager of Wet‘n’Wild Las Vegas.
