With
an enduring devotion to acting, Pacino is one of film and theatre’s most
respected players and a beloved actor to cinema fans worldwide. “Pacino: One Night Only” will celebrate his
acclaimed career in an intimate theatre setting as Pacino himself shares his
passion for acting and directing. The
evening will explore his life beginning in the 1960s when he performed
Off-Broadway and will follow his iconic career to present day. The show will
include previously untold stories and never-before-seen clips as well as
offering guests the rare chance to speak directly with Pacino during an
audience question and answer session.
Pacino
has created some of the most indelible character portrayals in cinema history,
having starred in more than 40 films including “The Godfather Trilogy;” “Dog
Day Afternoon;” “Serpico;” “Scent of a Woman;” “Sea of Love;” “Dick Tracy;”
“Heat; “Scarface;” “Any Given Sunday;” “Donnie Brasco;” and HBO’s “Angels in
America,” “You Don’t Know Jack” and “Phil Spector.”
Pacino
is one of the rare winners of the acting triple crown: the Oscar, Tony and Emmy
Award. He is an eight-time Academy Award
nominee and an Oscar Award winner for his performance in “Scent of a
Woman.” His performances on HBO have
garnered Golden Globe and Emmy Awards for “Angels in America” and “You Don’t
Know Jack;” he won his first of two Tony Awards in 1969 for “Does A Tiger Wear
A Necktie?” He also has been awarded the
Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement in Motion
Pictures, the AFI Life Achievement Award, the American Cinematheque Award and
2012 National Medal of Arts, presented to Pacino by President Obama.
