Grammy-nominated
70’s rockers and “Joy to the World” hitmakers, Three Dog Night will perform at
The Orleans Showroom on June 28 and 29.
Three
Dog Night has garnered numerous accomplishments throughout their career
including landing 21 consecutive Top 40 hits-- three of which were #1 singles,
11 Top 10's, 18 straight Top 20's, seven million-selling singles and 12
straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. The band’s timeless hits have appeared on
best selling charts in pop, rock and country genres.
Their
first gold record was "One,” written and recorded by Harry Nilsson. The
group later achieved three US #1 songs including "Mama Told Me Not to
Come,” "Joy to the World,” and "Black and White.” During this time,
the band sold more than 40 million albums.
The
band’s popularity continued in 2000, with the “The Best of Three Dog Night:
20th Century Masters” landing on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. In late
2009, Three Dog Night released two new songs, which gained status on the
charts, "Heart of Blues" and "Prayer of the Children".
Additionally,
Three Dog Night's hits have contributed to numerous television commercials,
radio, and major motion pictures. Songs featured include "Mama Told Me
(Not To Come)", "Joy to the World", "Black and White",
"Shambala" and "One."
Recently,
Three Dog Night celebrated their fourth decade as a band and while they have
not recorded a full-length album since 1976, the group’s next album is in the
works. The current lineup features original members Cory Wells, Danny Hutton,
Jimmy Greenspoon and Michael Allsup, along with longtime members Paul Kingery
and Pat Bautz.
