Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar at The LINQ will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a
‘Cinco de Chayo’ bash featuring a nonstop fiesta with tequila, sexy rides on
the mechanical bull, live DJ and Mexican snacks.
The
weekend-long party will culminate on Monday, May 5, and will be 98.5 KLUC’s
official Cinco de Mayo bash with Chet Buchanan from 98.5 KLUC’s Chet Buchanan
and the Morning Zoo starting at 5:30 p.m. A mechanical bull is set in the
center of the action for partiers to enjoy a ride on the wild side and
participate in the sexy bull riding contest while live DJs pump high-energy
beats all day and night. Guests are encouraged to bash a piñata for a chance to
win prizes, such as: a one-night stay at The Quad, a dozen cupcakes from
Sprinkles Cupcakes, two tickets to Legends in Concert, bar tab at Chayo, a $100
gift certificate to Chayo and more. Fiesta goers will enjoy drink specials
including a Corona and Sauza Blue tequila shot for $8, $7 shots of Patrón
Tequila, $5 house made margaritas and $5 Coronas, Pacífico, Negra Modelo and
Modelo Especial from when the restaurant opens at 11 a.m. until the last bull
ride.
Executive
Chef Ernesto Zendejas, a Mexico City native, will be cooking up spicy
specialties, priced from $9 to $16, including: guacamole topped with
pomegranate seeds and served with pork rinds or tortilla chips; pork sopes made
with chorizo and queso fresco; quesadilla frita with Oaxaca cheese and poblano peppers;
tostadas served with marinated pulled pork and black beans; and a chicken torta
adorned with avocado and queso fresco.
Authentic
Mexican street tacos, priced from $13 to $15 for three, will include the choice
of crispy fish with cilantro mayo; lobster topped with chipotle mayo; pulled
chicken topped with chipotle sauce; carnitas complemented by Mexican herbs; and
grilled rib eye served with cascabel sauce.
