Jonathan
Goldsmith, widely known as The Most Interesting Man in the World, will add to
his remarkable list of accomplishments when he serves as grand marshal of the
Kobalt 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“When it
comes to NASCAR races, I prefer Las Vegas Motor Speedway,” said Goldsmith of
his upcoming appearance where he will arrive in style Sunday with his
helicopter pilot in tow.
Veteran
stage, film and television Jonathan Goldsmith portrays the debonair Most
Interesting Man in the World in the highly popular, award winning TV
commercials that debuted in 2006. Goldsmith will be at LVMS on Sunday to give
the 43 drivers the command to start their engines prior to the start of the
17th annual Kobalt 400.
Goldsmith, 75, going on 30, began his acting
career in the 60’s appearing in more than 25 feature films, including “Hang ‘Em
High,” “Ice Station Zebra” and “The Shootist” with John Wayne. He also has
appeared in more than 45 television series, including recurring roles on
“Gunsmoke,” “Dynasty” and the original “Dallas.”
NASCAR Weekend begins on Thursday, March 6
with a free test day for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The weekend continues
Friday, March 7 with Stratosphere Pole Day featuring practices for both the
Kobalt 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Nationwide
Series race as well as qualifying for the Kobalt 400. The Boyd Gaming 300 is
set for Saturday, March 8 and the Kobalt 400 will run on Sunday, March 9. Two
nights of dirt-track racing will take place at the Dirt Track on March 5 and 6
featuring the World of Outlaws.
