LV Entertainers WAKE-UP! The Animal Foundation KILLED 53% Of The Dogs/Cats Last Year!!

Last week it was announced that Jeff Civillico would be hosting and performing at The Animal Foundation's Best in Show event scheduled for April 27th.

Vegas animal lovers have been circulating a petition asking him to withdraw his support from the event citing The Animal Foundation's poor track record at running the Lied Animal Shelter. In less than 24 hours, the petition has gathered over 500 signatures on the website ipetitions.com. The petition states that The Animal Foundation killed 53% of the animals they took in last year, many for minor health issues such as ear infections, superficial wounds, cracked teeth or allergies, or simply being timid or scared, as rows of kennels sat unoccupied. Also noted was the dog auction that takes place at the conclusion of Best in Show, something that is illegal in Clark County and frowned upon by the Humane Society of the United States.

In his defense, Jeff Civillico commented on his Facebook page that he was unaware of the issues surrounding The Animal Foundation, but was still going to go forward with his participation in the event. "I can't deal with the larger issues," wrote Jeff, "I can only show up, as I said I would, to entertain the crowd. I’m an entertainer… That’s what I do."

No Kill Las Vegas co-founder, Bryce Henderson stated, "Most entertainers research an organization before lending them their name, but I am dismayed that even after learning the facts, he still wants to continue to associate himself with this organization."

Many of the people who signed the petition left comments. "Do not support the AF KILL facility. Be on the right side of this issue, your name is on the line," says Regan Lehman of Las Vegas. Diane Norris of Las Vegas writes, "Poor choice on Jeff's part...shows a serious lack of character to not stand for what is right!" Bill Christy, also from Las Vegas, writes, "You are supporting a slaughterhouse, not an animal charity."
