The
Chelsea, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ new 40,000-square foot performance and
event space, will debut over New Year’s Eve with a performance by Grammy
Award-winning recording artist Bruno Mars, bringing a more intimate and
memorable guest experience to entertainment and meetings in Las Vegas.
“The
Chelsea will undoubtedly surprise our guests – the venue is the perfect
combination of industrial grit and artistic glamour. The setting is intimate,
warm and memorable. From the Maya Hayuk commissioned art pieces to the iconic
Soho inspired stairwell – The Chelsea is unlike any venue that exists today and
Cosmopolitan in every detail,” said Lisa Marchese, CMO of The Cosmopolitan of
Las Vegas.
The
Chelsea has a personality yet is highly adaptable, able to house a variety of
live performances, group meetings and events as well as sporting events. Configurations can be tailored to meet varied
client needs, including but not limited to:
More
than 3,000-person events, such as a new product unveiling, vehicle launch,
concert or sports event
2,565-person
theater-style general sessions
900-person
classroom-style event
750-person
banquet-style event
65
10x10 exhibit-style booths
Designed
by internationally acclaimed firm AvroKO (PUBLIC and Beauty & Essex in New
York City, Lilly & Bloom and Carnevino in Hong Kong), the venue evokes an
abandoned glass factory turned working theater. Easily accessible from the
resort’s West End Tower on the third level, The Chelsea takes on the name of
the ballroom that has housed many of the resorts’ headliner concerts and famous
fight nights, and will accommodate more than 3,000 guests and a more diverse
range of events including concerts, keynote addresses, sporting events and
general assemblies.
The
new space marries a sophisticated design approach with unparalleled functionality
and flexibility to set the stage for everything from intimate gatherings to
large-scale productions. The transformable space features cast glass
chandeliers, a vintage lobby bar, private opera boxes, and a dramatic grand
staircase. Remnant brick tiling, an eclectic collection of stage props, and the
latest technology seamlessly woven throughout, will come together as a
brilliant backdrop for conference and concert-goers alike. Artist Maya Hayuk
was commissioned to create three bold, large-panel paintings specifically for
The Chelsea, bringing her vibrant and energetic approach inspired by music and
cultures from around the world.
A
grand opening celebration for The Chelsea will take place on New Year’s Eve
with performances by Bruno Mars on Dec. 29 and 31. Tickets start at $150 and are available now
at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com or through Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000.
