Sunset
Park, which recently went through a two-year $11.7 million dollar renovation,
will host the Sunset Wonderland Holiday Festival. The festive extravaganza will
feature an ice skating rink, holiday activities for all ages, horse & buggy
hay rides around the lake, crafts, holiday performances from local youth
groups, a Ferris wheel, a photo opportunity with Santa and so much more! The
events begin on Friday, Dec. 6 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2601 E
Sunset Road. Sunset Wonderland is open from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through
Friday, and 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is FREE to
experience the magic of Sunset Wonderland and all ages invited to attend and
make this event a holiday tradition.
“This
event has all the makings of a wonderful new holiday tradition for Las
Vegas-area families,” said Commissioner Mary Beth Scow, whose district includes
the popular regional park. “I invite everyone to get into the spirit of the
season by enjoying this holiday festival.”
The
ice skating sessions take place every hour, on the hour, in a 45 minute block
for $8 per hour including skate rental (senior, adult or child). Tickets can be
purchased at Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.com/sunset-wonderland-las-vegas-nevada-12-11-2013/event/17004B6DDC3F7C37 or at Sunset Park Reservations Office located on the
northeast side of the lake.
Families,
local businesses and organizations are invited to sponsor a Christmas Tree in
the “Holiday Wonderland of Trees.” Showcase the meaning of the holidays and
compete in the “Best Of” tree contest. The winner chosen will represent the
entire event and be featured as the official Sunset Wonderland Holiday Tree.
