PJ 5K 1 Mile Walk For Speedway Children's Charities Takes Place On Sunday 11/24

The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities will host the inaugural PJ 5k and one-mile walk at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 4:30 p.m.

Participants are invited to run, jog or walk the course in their pajamas. The course will take runners and walkers through the Glittering Lights www.glitteringlightslasvegas.com/ holiday light display at the superspeedway.

Glittering Lights is Nevada's largest drive-through Christmas light show with millions of LED lights and hundreds of sparkling light displays. Visitors will experience more than 450 light displays while racing to the finish line.

Individuals, kids in strollers and teams are welcome. Entry fees range from $15 to $35 dollars. Participants may register at the event or online at: hbeta.active.com/las-vegas-nv/running/pj-5k-and-amp-1-mile-walk-2013.

Registration will open on Sunday at 3 p.m. and the race/walk will start at 4:30 p.m. Participants who bring a new pair of children’s pajamas to donate will be entered in a drawing to win two tickets to Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s 2014 NASCAR Weekend.

The SCC PJ 5k is sponsored by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, KSNE Sunny 106.5 FM and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Making a difference in a child’s life is the focus of Speedway Children’s Charities. SCC strives to do this in collaboration with the non-profit organizations it supports nationwide. Individually, SCC’s local chapters identify the needs of children in their communities and award grants to organizations that address them. Since its inception in 1999, Speedway Children’s Charities has granted more than $2.5 million to local children’s causes.
