Mario & Cast From Le Reve |
“Extra”
host and actor Mario Lopez celebrated his 40th birthday in high style this
weekend with fun, frolic and fine dining at Wynn Las Vegas. The weekend was the
first major public appearance for Mario and his wife, Courtney Mazza Lopez,
together since the birth of their son, Dominic, last month.
The
“Saved by the Bell” alumnus, Courtney, and a group of 10 close friends got the
party started Friday night taking in a performance of Le Reve – The Dream
featuring breathtaking acrobatics, captivating dancing and synchronized
swimming choreography. After the jaw-dropping show, Mario met the cast and
posed for photographs.
Mario
and his party then dined at celebrity hot spot Andrea’s where they shared
executive chef Joseph Elevado’s Asian fare including a variety of sushi and
sashimi, specialty rolls, chili shrimp tempura, tuna tataki salad, New York
strip steak, miso black cod and more. Mario kept refreshed with Andrea's
signature Sinatra Smash cocktails while Courtney, looking fetching in a black
leather dress, sipped on champagne.
After
enjoying an ice cream flight and cake pops for dessert at Andrea's, the group
transitioned into the adjacent Surrender Nightclub at 11:30 p.m. Seated in the
prime DJ table, the Veuve Cliquot and Makers Mark immediately began to flow.
A
boxing enthusiast since high school, set to announce the Bradley/Marquez fight
the next night for HBO Boxing, Mario was surprised and delighted with a custom
boxing themed cake which arrived with fanfare, complete with confetti, as it
was presented by Surrender Nightclub's lovely cocktail servers and go-go
dancers. Fans were clamoring to get a glimpse of the birthday boy and his
festive celebration and he graciously posed for photos with a lucky few. Mario
was given a shout-out by DJ Mighty Mi which elicited a congratulatory roar from
the packed house. The group partied and
danced until the wee hours moving to the sounds of DJ Deniz Koyu.
On
Saturday night, Mario, Courtney and company gathered at Botero, the steakhouse
at Encore, for dinner. The group was seated on the patio and enjoyed Executive
Chef Mark LoRusso's celebrated steaks, Dover sole, and short rib ravioli,
sharing several sides including chopped salad, baby beet salad, truffle mac,
and cheese and fries.
Following
dinner at Botero, Mario and 15 of his closest friends gathered at XS to
continue the star's 40th birthday.
Mario
entered the award-winning nightclub around 12:30 a.m. with wife Courtney by his
side. Mario's better half looked stunning in a black leather dress with
studding details while the TV host was cool and casual in a gray t-shirt and
fitted dark jeans.
The
crowd erupted as he was led by 25 of the venue's beautiful model servers,
offering a parade of lights down the club's iconic gold staircase and onto a
stage side table. The group took photos as confetti rained down in honor of the
birthday boy.
At
the stroke of midnight, it was officially Courtney's birthday, and the XS staff
surprised her shortly after 1 a.m. with her own parade of lights and confetti
to ensure she had her own special moment.
Shortly
after, headlining DJ Afrojack took the stage for his dynamic set as the group
danced and partied into the early morning hours.

Can't believe Mario Lopez just celebrated his 40th! I was I knew about this earlier. My husband and I were on a trip to play golf in Las Vegas and we could have joined in on the celebration. I will definitely check your posts on our next Las Vegas golf trip!
