DROP "Walk For Water"

Come
join ONE DROP on Saturday October 5 for the Walk for Water to help raise
awareness and funds and pay tribute to the millions of women and children –
particularly girls - who spend several hours daily collecting water. This
sometimes dangerous and physically challenging job also takes a lot of time,
time that is not spent at home caring for family members, working at an income
generating job or attending school.

Co-Chairs
for ONE DROP's Walk for Water are Missy Franklin,(America competition swimmer
and four-time Olympic gold medalist), Forrest Griffin( UFC Hall of Famer and
Former Light Heavyweight Champion), and Jenna Morton (Morton Group and Springs
Preserve Board of Trustees Vice Chair).
This
walk - an initiative of Scott Stevens, Head of Carpentry at KA - kicks off at
South Point at 8am, and is 5.6 miles along Las Vegas Boulevard. There will be
water stations along the way staffed by volunteers from local organizations. A
rally point (starting at Town Square) will be set up; where walkers can join in
if they don’t want to walk the entire 5.6 miles. The last 2 miles will be a
celebration where the number of walkers will grow leading us to Mandalay Bay.
All participants will wear specifically designed blue ONE DROP shirts and all
together will be”painting the Strip blue”. The end ceremony will be at Mandalay
Bay starting around 10:30 am concluding at 12 pm.
