Veteran
comedian and Flamingo Las Vegas headliner George Wallace has been entertaining
audiences for more than three decades. The legendary humorist has graced the
big screen, small screen and countless stages around the world throughout his
extensive career. Now, Wallace hopes to reach an even wider audience with his
first book, Laff It Off, being released by Chaite Press on October 21.
Laff
It Off is more than a collection of jokes; it is also a lesson on how to live
life with laughter.
“Looking
at life through a humorous lens has helped me every step of the way,” Wallace
explains. “I’ve always tried to help my audiences see the lighter side of life.
This book is a way for me to give back.”
Wallace,
who still does over 200 shows and appearances a year, enlisted friend and
comedy writer Dan Ewen to help shape Laff It Off. Ewen raked through Wallace’s
archives, unearthing transcripts and footage as well as general observations on
life over the course of his career.
In
addition to appearing at the Flamingo Las Vegas, Wallace will be touring in
support of the release of Laff It Off this fall. Online presales begin in early
October www.chaitepress.co.uk/comedy-2 with the official release in stores
Oct. 21. A DVD/Download comedy concert, also called “Laff It Off,” will
coincide with the book release.
