Friday
night, Brian Wilson and Jeff Beck brought their tour to The Pearl inside Palms
Casino Resort. Brian Wilson and his extraordinary band took to the stage first
performing many hits from the Beach Boys’ vast career including California
Girls, Don’t Worry Baby, Help Me Rhonda and I Get Around. They made a few
“shout outs” to special guests in the audience including Four Freshman member
Brian Eichenberger, musician Billy Hinsche and Beach Boys Fan Club President
Alice Lillie who has been at the forefront of the fan club since 1973.
Former
Beach Boys member Al Jardine and David Marks performed alongside Wilson and
guitarist Blondie Chaplin joined the band for a few songs.
Guitar
great Jeff Beck hit the stage with a rocking set before inviting Wilson and the
band back out to share the spotlight for a few songs. The harmonies of Wilson
and his band were pure perfection, blending seamlessly with Beck’s guitar
riffs. Known as one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock, Beck was
ranked among the top five guitarists in Rolling Stone’s list of the “100
Greatest Guitarists of All Time.” He recently joined Wilson in the studio as a
guest on Wilson’s upcoming album on Capitol Records.
