Hussong’s
Cantina & Taqueria inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place offers food and
drink specials paired with live entertainment in honor of Mexican Independence
Day on Monday, September 16. The eatery, one of two U.S. outposts of the
historic bar in Baja, Mexico, offers a tasty and affordable dining experience
for the weekend-long celebration.
Executive
Chef Noe Alcala serves up a special off-the-menu dish only available Friday,
September 14 through Monday, September 16. The Seafood-Stuffed Chile Relleno
features a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with shrimp, mahi-mahi, scallops,
pico de gallo, roasted tomato sauce and Mexican cheese, all topped with ancho
chile sour cream and a Mexican slaw with jalapeƱo mint vinaigrette. The
delectable dish will be served with a side of rice and beans for $20. Along
with the restaurant’s authentic Baja fare, guests can enjoy $20 Indio beer
buckets and finish their meal on a sweet note with cinnamon sugar Churros or a
plate of Dessert Nachos.
On
Friday, Saturday and Monday, Hussong’s will feature the musical stylings of a
Rock n’ Roll Mariachi band, performing everything from Latin serenades to
classic rock hits upon request, offering a modern and energetic take on the
traditional mariachis.
