means no responsibility! That is how I chose to spend my 111th birthday;
actually by being responsible. But I
digress… I live in Las Vegas, the town that in reality never does sleep. There
is always a store open, or a a restaurant and you can always gamble 24/7 365 days a
year here. In addition to living here I also happen to have the opportunity to
play here also, by attending shows, openings and several events where the media
is offered great food and usually some type of alcoholic inducement to add to our
enjoyment. So I am always on the go. But
it is never a good idea to drive drunk or to drive buzzed because as our freeway
signs say “driving buzzed is the same as driving drunk.” So with this in mind
my very good friend Kathleen was able to get us a room at Caesars Palace, which happens
to be my favorite casino on the LV Strip at a fantastic rate. Heather also checked into a room that overlooked the pool, so much fun! On with the birthday planning!
I had
already started out a week earlier by having a wonderful Plastic Surgeon Dr. Christopher
Khorsandi help turn back the clock with the use of a great product; Radiesse
1.5 cc’s to be exact. Going to Dr.
Khorsandi was a leap of faith because the first time I had fillers done it hurt
terribly! I cried through the entire process, well this time was very
different. What a great present…reduced marionette lines! It was heavenly
because there was no pain this time at all. So first objective was achieved.
Secondly
where to have dinner? Don’t misunderstand me I love Las Vegas, but the price of
a dinner at a restaurant on the LV Strip is downright budget busting. Plus I
also wanted to share my birthday with my friends and I did not want them to end
up breaking their budgets. Luckily for me my birthday this year August 30th
fell right on the last day of restaurant week.
Restaurant week in Las Vegas is a wonderful event! Some of the highest
rated and popular restaurants put together Prixe Fix menus that are specially
priced, and a portion of the sales goes towards Three Square which helps feed
nearly 100,000 men, women, children and seniors each month.
So
after checking out the menus and options it was decided, DINNER at Palm
restaurant at Caesars! If you have not been to this restaurant, make it a “to
do” on your bucket list! For $50.13 each we had salad, choice of fish, filet
mignon, or a HUGE pork shop and a side, plus dessert! Can I rave about the
tenderness of the steak, the fabulous cheese cake? Well I just did but it was a
wonderful dinner.

Since
it was a “no responsibility” birthday, yes we started celebrating at lunch. It
has always been a desire of mine to sit at Spago and sip a chilled Belvedere
martini with blue cheese olives. And that is exactly what I did, my friend
Heather had wine. Then a little shopping and then more drinks at TREVI. Feeling carefree and happy we were on to the
next new adventure! Hair and make-up in our rooms. Two lovely ladies Lindsey
Dimich and Sylvia J. Stankowski did our hair and make-up. Well if you know me I
look entirely different without make-up, a little paler version of myself. So
having them come spruce me up and provide their services to my friends was such
a treat! Because when I am a little tipsy, well the glitter comes out! Never
ever ever met glitter I did not like.

Did
I mention that we also managed to polish off a bottle of champagne and some
honey flavored whiskey? We did but it was during a three hour period with 4 ladies.
Feeling no pain my lovely pup Lola Belle came up to wish me a happy birthday!
She loves Caesars Palace also, so much that while we were at dinner she
ordered and watched “The Great Gatsby” silly Lola such a big Leonardo fan. She
also was able to guard my Hello Kitty gifts!
I was
really lucky to have Kristina arrange for myself and my girlfriends to skip on
over to PURE Nightclub, we were given wristbands and it was open bar! Fortified
by more liquid courage we charged on! PURE Nightclub was a blast! Great music and then it
was decided, time to get a table! So get a table we did, out on the patio. Okay I will be very honest by this time
twelve hours later after I started celebrating, I was just plain TIRED! It was
really amazing that I had lasted this long. Then we all had a bout of ice throwing
and were warned not to do that again. But like naughty out of control children
we still played “get ice in the bra of Christine!” Hi-jinks! By this time I
felt full to the brim with alcohol but Kathleen was chanting in my ear “party
pooper” and “drink more!” This is the only time in my lifetime I can bet a $100
that I will hear those words come out of Kathleen’s mouth, drink more!
I
cannot really tell you how much of the vodka bottle that we finished but I do remember
three nice guys from I believe Sweden? Not much more though. By this time it was 1:00 am, which for me is
LATE. So after a few false unsteady starts back to the rooms we went! Yes there
were a few “bumps” in the road getting back to the room but you had better
check the security tapes at Caesars because I am not telling!

Some
of the advantages of staying in a hotel room:
You
can turn down the temperature as low as you want because you are not paying the
electric bill
You
do not have to make your bed.
You
do not have to get up at 5 am to feed the dogs

The
next morning feeling hung over and tired it was on to REVIV! We were indulged
and treated like VIPS by the staff. So very nice! What is REVIV? REVIV was founded by four Emergency Physicians
with a combined 40 years of treating dehydration. They know from experience what
your body needs to replenish and help your body recover from a physically draining
experience. Which I believe 12 hours of drinking would qualify for. By using an IV drip the Megaboost, a combination
of Vitamin B Complex, B12, C, Magnesium and Saline or whichever treatment you
choose; a 100% goes directly to your cells. Plus the chairs, oh the massage
chairs! A massage on your neck, legs and feet and back! After a night in heels
I cannot even tell you the amazing feeling of having your feet massaged felt
like. This experience was FANTASTIC, we were put into a nice dim room and the IV
was administered and then we had ten minutes of pure Oxygen. What a kick! By
the time I got home, felt entirely energized and actually did clean my
backyard. AMAZING!
All
in all a FANTABULOUS 111th Birthday! Thank you to all of my friends,
Heather, Kathleen, Christine, Joan, Hannah and the wonderful staff of Caesars
Palace!
