It’s fun,
it’s funny and all to true! The newest show opening at The Shimmer Cabaret Showroom
at The LVH Hotel & Casino covers all the subjects regarding to “The D* Word”
(*Ditched, Dumped, Divorced and Dating) follows the lives of four women each
going through their own D* word dilemmas. Each of the four women are at different stages
of their lives that the females in the audience can relate to. Whether it is
dealing with a divorce, or being dumped or navigating the tricky stages of
dating in this digital world we live in these ladies pull it off with gusto and
heart. Laughs were heard throughout the
audience as DeeDee made her own “red soled shoes.” Not only are these ladies funny they are real, and by real I mean every woman can relate to their size and shape. Jen (Sarah Hester) is the young fresh just dumped girl, and Kate (Laura Wright) is the slightly older wiser sexy girl, and Erica (Angie McKnight) is the driven career woman who is not a size 2 but is beautiful, and crowd favorite DeeDee (Maddie Casto) is a recently divorced middle aged woman who is struggling to find her way back into the dating scene after years of being married.
The show
is a musical and expect to hear favorite songs such as “I Will Survive” “Love
Hurts” and a fabulous rendition of “Just A Gigolo.” Each
cast member has a diverse musical background and harmonizes perfectly.

For the highly-anticipated opening night on Thursday,
Aug. 1. Local entertainers, including the cast of FANTASY, Raiding the Rock
Vault, Trent Carlini, Murray Sawchuck, Jeff Civillico and Steven Phenegar from
Tournament of Kings walked the red carpet, posing with show creator Jeanie
Linders and The Big D*. Show-goers were treated to a cocktail party inside
Tempo Lounge before the show, where cast and creator greeted guests, enjoyed
pre-show cocktails and posed for photos with celebrities before heading into
Shimmer Cabaret for the show.
