The New Wet 'n' Wild In Las Vegas! Some Tips!

Colorado Cooler
It’s hot and you are looking for somewhere to cool off! Where better than Wet 'n’ Wild, a return of a Las Vegas classic? The waterpark formerly was located on Las Vegas Blvd. just south of Sahara Ave. and was “THE” place to go during the summer. Plus back then Circus Circus Enterprises was under the ownership of William “Bill” Bennett and every summer an employee day was held at Wet 'n’ Wild complete with a family style barbecue  Ah the good days of Vegas when for Thanksgiving every employee received a turkey and there were Christmas bonuses! But back to Wet n’ Wild.

Now the water park is located in the southwest area of Las Vegas on Fort Apache right off of Warm Springs.  If you are ready and willing be prepared to stay the entire day. The park opens at 10 am parking is $5 dollars per car.

TIPS –
Get there early and stake out a place in the shade. Some people even bring tents and canvas covers!
Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!
Flip flops are a must and even other water park foot apparel. The sidewalk becomes hot.
Be prepared to rent a locker to store your valuables. They come in small medium and large and the prices vary accordingly. $8 - $12 per day.
Rental tubes are a “must” for the Lazy River and the Wave Pool.
Single Rider Tubes:                         $5.00
Double Rider Tubes:                       $10.00
If you are a FB junkie or love to Instagram then consider buying a waterproof pouch for your phone. You could also use it to store money and credit cards.
No outside food or beverages are allowed except for factory sealed water bottles.

The park itself is very enjoyable. Living in the desert I was very curious as to the water usage. Turns out the management at Wet 'n’ Wild have that all figured out. Less water is used than at a golf course and the only water that evaporates is the water from the lazy river and wave pool. All the other rides are drained after closing and all water is stored underground at night.

There are many options for pricing:
Twilight After 5 PM - Fri/Sat Only      $24.99
General Admission - 42" And Up        $39.99
Junior Admission - Under  42"            $29.99
Senior Admission - 65+ Years Old     $29.99

At this time the Season Pass and Gold Pass VIP are sold out.  Cabanas are available to rent and are $120 during the week and $150 on the week-end. For availability contact 702-979-1600 or email info@wetnwildlasvegas.com.

Kiddie Cove
There is a food court and for two of us we spent $20 on lunch. The children’s portion of the park Kiddie Cove is a collection of three slides for young visitors. Two slides provide an independent slide experience and is a great introduction to water parks.

Red Rock Bay
We had a blast just rolling along on the lazy river (Colorado Cooler) and paddling around in the wave pool (Red Rock Bay.) Unfortunately due to the long lines we did not get to experience any of the rides or slides.

Wet 'n’ Wild will host a Dive ‘n’ Movie night every other Friday in the Red Rock Bay wave pool. Movies are included with daily park admission and to pass holders. Guests are invited to watch the PG-rated movies while floating in the wave pool or sitting on the surrounding deck for a unique outdoor movie viewing experience. Coming up on August 9 Madagascar 3 and  August 23 will have Rise of the Guardian.

They have expanded their schedule to include 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. operating hours on Friday and Saturday, plus holidays. With the new hours, a Twilight Ticket has been introduced for those who wish to visit the water park at 5 p.m. or later on days when the park closes at 10 p.m. It costs $24.99 per person and is available online for advance purchase or at the park’s main ticket windows.

Another new park admission option for frequent visitors is the Wild Weekday Pass. At $69.99 per person, it provides unlimited visits Monday through Friday this season.

Regular operating hours are Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The park will operate daily through Aug. 25 and then weekends only thereafter through Sept. 29.  The operating schedule is subject to change without notice.
