Las
Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) is postponing the inaugural Rock the
Canyon Rally scheduled for Saturday, July 13 through Sunday, July 14, 2013. Due
to the Carpenter One Fire, LVSSR has suspended activity since Thursday, July 4. The family-friendly festival that is
presented by Black Patch Motorcycle Club and benefits You Got the Power, a
local non-profit, will be rescheduled for later this summer.
Officials
at LVSSR report that the Carpenter One Fire has not caused the area any damage,
however roads to the area have been closed to the public since July 4.
“LVSSR
is focused on providing ongoing support to the U.S. Forest Service and
firefighters who are working to contain the fire and protect Kyle, Lee and
Trout canyons,” said Kevin Stickelman, LVSSR’s president and general
manager. “We have supplied water from
our snowmaking pond to assist in fire fighting efforts during this time of
crisis.”
Services
at LVSSR will remain suspended until further notice and all resort related
updates are available through LVSSR’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. For more information related specifically to

continue our commitment to serve the families and guests of Las Vegas in a safe
outdoor environment,” said Maria Jose Norero, LVSSR’s director of marketing.
