La
Comida invigorates the burgeoning Downtown Las Vegas dining scene with a menu
inspired by the cosmopolitan fare of Mexico City, fresh fruit margaritas and
more than 100 tequila selections.
Facing
Sixth Street, the façade of La Comida is lined by old-style aluminum picnic
benches in front of wooden doors that open to create an indoor-outdoor space
between the dining room and patio. Intentionally distressed to lend a
decades-old feeling to the structure, the restaurant is marked by an old-school
overhanging 'La Comida' sign and a 7-foot sculptured metal monkey clinging to
the rooftop corner, whose bones flash in pink neon. The main room is accented
with wooden floors, reclaimed tiles from Mexico, authentic church pews and
stained glass from old church windows. The savory food menu includes regional
dishes including Carne de Res a la Parrilla, Pollo al Horno and Puerco Ahumado.
