Robinson

Description:
Winner of Australia’s Got Talent Season 2, Joe Robinson has played guitar for
as long as he can remember. He doesn’t think of himself as being “self taught”
as influences of so many great artists are what fueled his obsession with his
instrument. From Jimi Hendrix to Django Reinhardt to Jason Becker; he learned
from the best.
Since
day one, he found it easier and more intriguing to create songs rather than
learn existing ones, so the compositional element of his music is somewhat deep
rooted. He has released three albums of original material and performed all
over the world in some radically different musical situations and environments.
In the early days, he was playing his own kind of amalgam of blues, rock and
funk, later resorting to a solo acoustic format when touring.
His
latest release is an EP called ToeJam and with this project he decided to
simply write, produce and release four songs as a taste of where he may go
next. Rather than worry about the repercussions of the music he was creating,
he simply followed his instincts and ensured that he was heavily involved in
the production by writing, as well as playing, almost all the instruments.

Monroy

Description:
Front man Peter Monroy grew up in the California sunshine of Los Angeles raised
by a family of talent. His father was a classically trained tenor and as early
as the age of 10, Monroy's flair for drums, guitar and keyboards began to
blossom. At 13, he joined his first band playing drums in a Beatles cover band
and at 17, while at a recording session for the band “Shiro,” the singer didn't
show up. Monroy wrote the song they were recording, so he figured he might as
well sing it! In 1998 he moved to Las Vegas and by 2000 he had played many
local clubs and casinos. Monroy went on to perform in every top casino lounge
on The Strip and his genuine love of music and performing has made him a hit
with locals, visitors and even hotel staff.
