Silverscreen
sweetheart Zooey Deschanel and fellow bandmate, singer/songwriter M. Ward, lit
up the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas last night (Wednesday,
June 19) as the indie-pop duo She & Him. Known for songs perfectly suited
on a warm summer day, Deschanel’s twee vocals carried the crowd away, dancing
on the beachy, strummy notes of Ward’s guitar. Covering the duo’s three main
full-length albums, She & Him’s set highlighted the group’s latest
release, Volume Three, with perfectly
sweet performances of the singles “I Could’ve Been Your Girl” and “Never Wanted
Your Love.”
The
Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas features artists at the forefront of the touring
world and emerging artists that will inspire the next musical movements coupled
with spectacularly-designed, technology-driven venues. The excitement of
live-music and sports action spills onto the casino floor from Book &
Stage, an upscale sports and entertainment lounge, while live DJs fill the
rhythmic and vibrant hot-spot BOND with the best in house-music. Finally, The
Chandelier, a dramatic inhabitable three-story architectural wonder, created by
2 million luminous crystals, houses three unique bar experiences: high-energy
hot spot, sophisticated cocktail retreat and inviting lounge. Perched high
above the Las Vegas Strip, the Boulevard Pool is a multilevel pool experience
by day and an intimate outdoor concert venue with unobstructed sightlines of
both the stage and The Strip by night.
