In
conjunction with the celebration of their fourth anniversary at Station
Casinos, Brian McComas and Aaron Benward of Nashville Unplugged: The Story
Behind the Song, will film a new television special during a free performance
at Red Rock Resort on Tuesday, June 25. Doors open at 6 p.m. and guests must be
21 years or older.
Featuring
renowned songwriters Paul Overstreet and Danny Myrick, along with McComas and
Benward, the special performance will be taped as part of a new television
pilot, appropriately titled Nashville Unplugged. Overstreet has written and
co-written 27 top-10 songs for Randy Travis, Tanya Tucker, Marie Osmond, Kenny
Chesney and Glen Campbell, among others. As the bass player of his family’s
gospel band, Danny Myrick recorded his first album at the age of seven and has
since established himself as one of country music’s top songwriters, writing
for artists including Craig Morgan, Big and Rich and Jason Aldean.
“To
be celebrating our fourth year since bringing the show to Las Vegas is such a
thrill for us,” said Brian McComas and Aaron Benward of Nashville Unplugged.
“These songwriters we bring to town are our heroes. They are the ones who write the soundtrack to
our lives. Because of the continued
support of Judy Alberti and Station Casinos, along with our partners at 102.7
The Coyote, we have a show that people love and continue to support. The
television partnership with Solaris Entertainment and multi-award winning
producer/director Michael Bloom will prove to take Nashville Unplugged to the
next level nationally.”
During
the show’s fourth anniversary celebration, Nashville Unplugged: The Story
Behind the Song will welcome celebrated songwriter Rivers Rutherford to the
Rocks Lounge stage on Friday, June 28 at 8 p.m. Rutherford has written for some
of country music’s biggest stars, including Gretchen Wilson, Gary Allan, Faith
Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, Trick Pony, Blake Shelton, Deana Carter, Clay
Davidson, Jamie O’Neal and Andy Griggs, among others.
“We’re
honored and overjoyed to celebrate Nashville Unplugged’s fourth anniversary in
Las Vegas,” said Station Casinos’ Vice President of Entertainment Judy Alberti.
“The show has continually featured some of the world’s most talented and
sought-after songwriters and has grown into one of Las Vegas’ top entertainment
offerings. We look forward to its continued success at Red Rock Resort.”
Nashville
Unplugged: The Story Behind the Song is hosted by Brian McComas, who wrote and
