Renowned
chef Emeril Lagasse and legendary rocker Sammy Hagar joined forces on Saturday
night to kick off summer with a rockin'poolside Tiki bash. Lagasse and team
served savory barbecue and other kicked-up dishes before Sammy and The Wabos
jammed on stage for more than 1,200 partygoers. The tiki party was also a part
of Carnevale, the summer-long festival at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las
Vegas. Fans snapped photos as Chef Lagasse took charge of the grill, putting
his signature "New New Orleans" style on slow-roasted pork marinated
in Sammy's Beach Bar Rum on Hawaiian sweet rolls. Guests couldn't get enough of
the ahi tuna poke and taro root chips, grilled marinated beef ribs, spicy
octopus salad or the New Orleans Creole fresh corn on the cob.
Since
a Tiki party wouldn't be complete without rum, Sammy's Beach Bar Rum kept the
libations flowing. From Mai Tais to tropical punches, partiers sipped signature
beach-themed cocktails as they danced and sang to hits such as "I Can't
Drive 55," "There's Only One
Way to Rock" and "I'm Falling In Love Again." Later in the
evening, Lagasse took center stage and played tambourine with Hagar, much to
the delight of the crowd.
Earlier
in the day, Lagasse and Hagar filmed a commercial for Sammy's Beach Bar Rum at
Delmonico Steakhouse, featuring a newly created cocktail by mixologist Max
Solano.
