In
honor of Mother’s Day, 50 Greatest Photographs of National Geographic in
Imagine Exhibitions Gallery at The Venetian will offer $4 off admission to any
mom that brings in a photo of her children to the exhibition May 6 through May
12.
In
order to receive the discounted admission, moms must show either a print or
camera phone photo of her sons and/or daughters to the Imagine Exhibition’s
Gallery’s box office. Then they can immerse themselves in the 125-year-old
history of National Geographic, showcased in a gorgeous 6,800-square-foot
gallery. Guests can soak up some of the iconic publication’s most-recognized
photos, including Steve McCurry’s captivating Afghan Girl, Chris John’s image
of a lion braving a sandstorm in the Kalahari Desert, Emory Kristof’s exciting
underwater shots of the sunken Titanic, and much more.
For
some photographs, visitors can see the “near frames” taken by the photographer:
the sequence of images made in the field before and after the perfect shot.
Documentary videos throughout the exhibition tell the stories behind these
renowned photographs and the photographers who shot them.
“We
know that mothers are proud to carry around pictures of their kids, and now
they can show them off to receive a discount to this exciting exhibition that
celebrates spectacular photography,” said Tom Zaller, CEO and President of
Imagine Exhibitions, Inc.
