ABOUT
BILLY IDOL:
From
punk pioneer to global superstar, Billy Idol has created an unparalleled niche
in popular music and remained a household name for more than three decades. He
is respected as the original punk rocker who long ago found a way to take that
sneering punk attitude into the pop and rock mainstream, carving out songs that
have lasted a lifetime.
Still
as vital as ever, Idol will take to the road in the Summer of 2013 giving fans
across the generations an opportunity to chant along as he delivers his endless
catalogue of hits. In tow for the tour, he’s got longtime partner and legend in
his own right, Steve Stevens, on guitar.
As
part of the infamous Bromley Contingent and a fan of the Sex Pistols, Idol was
inspired to front the popular British punk band Generation X from 1976 until
the band’s break-up in 1981. He then decided to try his luck in America. At
this point, Idol hooked up with guitar genius Stevens and a crucial musical
partnership was forged. From there on out, Idol churned out many hits including
“Rebel Yell,” “White Wedding,” “Dancing With Myself,” “Flesh For Fantasy,” “Hot
In the City,” “Eyes Without A Face” and “Cradle of Love,” among others.
