Sugar
Factory will bring its internationally-renowned celebrity sweets and signature
treats to Brooklyn with the opening of the company’s sixth retail store at the
famed Barclays Center this fall.
“Our
family loves Brooklyn, and we have looked forward to opening here since we
opened our first store,” says owner, Charissa Davidovici. “Like Sugar Factory,
the city is fun and vibrant. Plus, there is no better place to introduce our
concept to Brooklyn than the Barclays Center.”
Known
for its “MTV meets Willy Wonka” appeal, the new 4,500-square-foot Sugar Factory
will offer everything from classic childhood novelties and modern candy
creations to Sugar Factory’s signature treats, including the company’s famed
Couture Pops.
Synonymous
with the Sugar Factory brand, Couture Pops have become a pop culture phenomenon
and have made confections a celebrity accessory. Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj,
Katy Perry, Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger, Sting, Charlie Sheen and Kourtney Kardashian
are just a few of the celebrities who have been spotted with the sparkly
lollipops. The Couture Pop collections have hit the red carpets in the hands of
major events in Miami, Los Angeles, New York City and Las Vegas, and are just
part of the buzz that has made Sugar Factory a staple in such national media as
People, OK!, Us Weekly, In Touch Weekly, NBC’s “Today Show” and more.
In
addition to its existing offerings, the new Sugar Factory will introduce
one-of-a-kind Brooklyn Nets and New York Islanders sweets and merchandise for
sports fanatics. Brooklyn Nets gummy basketballs, Couture Pops, tutus, clothing
and more will be accessible to Barclays Center shoppers, along with New York
Islanders gummy hockey pucks.
Sugar
Factory will honor the famed Brooklyn Bridge with a unique tribute line of
treats, which will include gummies, gum and more.
Designed
by extraordinary talent Amy Kim of AK DesignNETWORK, Sugar Factory Brooklyn
will combine function and form to take the guest on a breathtaking,
visually-inspiring journey. Kim has many impressive projects to her credit,
including a collaboration with Philippe Starck on the groundbreaking interior
of the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, and Hecho Inc., a strong design and build
firm making their name among New York City’s finest.
Sugar
Factory’s latest location will bring its second East Coast sweet shop to
Brooklyn, following the opening of Sugar Factory American Brasserie in the
famed Meatpacking District. The first Sugar Factory opened in 2009, and the
brand has become known around the globe for its celebrity appeal and signature
sweets. Sugar Factory’s ever-popular Las Vegas retail shops are located at The
Mirage Resort & Casino, Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood Resort
& Casino, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino and Paris Las Vegas.
