These
dogs were taken in by SCPR after the owner passed away. There were originally
14 dogs, but the others were taken by other rescues. These dogs are now in the
care of SCPR vets and will need donations for medical costs & fosters or
adopters.
Original
Email: It all started with an e-mail from cat rescuer Karen Lesser on March 22,
2013! 14 dogs in deplorable condition needed help immediately. Their owner
passed away and it was discovered by surviving family members he had 14 dogs.
We have limited information because no one knew about this situation, and now
that the man is deceased we cannot get any information. Five of the dogs were
placed by the surviving family, leaving 9 sad little faces looking for help.
The local shelters in Bakersfield and Kern County had been contacted, but they
were unable to offer any support. Within a day, four rescues became part of
this rescue endeavor and are asking for your help, financially and/or as a
foster or adopter.
