This spring and summer, Forever Resorts offers the Colorado River
Exploration Tour, which aims to expand visitors’ horizons with a multi-faceted
immersion into the history, industry and beauty of the Colorado River.
Starting on the Las Vegas strip,
travel back in time on a scenic ride to Eldorado Canyon. Visit the historic
Eldorado Canyon’s Techatticup Mine. Learn about one of Nevada’s earliest
industries and—second to gaming—it’s most prosperous.
Following an hour-long guided mine
tour, replete with intriguing folklore and facts about Nevada’s mining history
and adventures of the Wild West, board one of Forever Resorts’ motorized rafts
at Nelson’s Landing for a calm-water raft ride upstream to Willow Beach Marina.
Lunch is included during a stop on a beach along the river. These rafts are the
same rafts utilized on Forever Resorts’ Black Canyon River Rafting tours, which depart at
the base of Hoover Dam for a 12-mile long float trip down the Colorado River,
also culminating at Willow Beach. On the Colorado River Exploration Tour,
passengers will learn about the geology, wildlife, history and culture
associated with this section of the majestic Colorado River.
Once docked at Willow Beach,
passengers will return to Las Vegas via Hoover Dam for an eye popping photo
opportunity of this engineering wonder of the world.

CANYON RIVER ADVENTURES
This unique excursion takes place
aboard a motor-assisted raft that allows guests to leisurely enjoy and learn
about the history, desert wildlife and beauty in the Black Canyon of the
Colorado River.
Both full-day (6.5 hour) and
“postcard” tours (1.5 hours) are available. The full-day trip covers 12 miles
of the Colorado River and culminates at Willow Beach Marina on Lake Mohave in
the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. A boxed lunch and transportation back
to the departure point is included. Transportation back to your hotel is also
available. The postcard tour stays within ½ mile of Hoover Dam and offers
spectacular photographic opportunities of the dam and the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat
Tillman Memorial (bypass) bridge completed in October 2010.
